Hot: I want to touch a Dog is NO GO IN ISLAM- Let me tell you the WHYS

Hi sweeties!!
Im back with this hot & sensitive topic of the day!!
Apparently last weekend, someone has organized 'I want to touch a dog' event which ends up as hot debate after effect to all muslims in the country..

I am not a dog hater and i do not despise the doggies creatures. To the fact i adore the cutesy ones i usually see in pet shops (the lil cute small feisty or furry ones) and i usually squeal with delight whenever i see pet owners walking their gorgeous huskys or beary-like dogs in my own neighbourhood.

So bottom line dogs are man's best friends to some of my non-muslim friends and they can be good guard dogs too..

However with this hot topic screaming out loud viral on our social media, radio & newspaper; i think this issue is worth highlighted for. Especially to educate the younger generation and not be easily swayed by the 'current trend' or some other's own made tafsiran...

Just like hijab. Hijab is a MUST. not wearing is SINFUL.
Touching dogs on purpose is NO NO. And doing so on purpose is SINFUL.

So my dear muslim family & friends, before we jump the wagon (to judge or simply agree) pls open up your minds and read the real truth about ISLAM & DOGS.
Do your due diligences, research and understand the meaning of Quran and Hadiths.
And Sunnah Nabi.

Yes we all want to live in a modern world and want Islam or muslim ways to be accepted by the public etc. Truth is, Islam's way of life is never dogma or conventional. - cos we are simply doing good just by our own faith- following our QURAN & HADITH and Sunnah Nabi SAW.
... just like the christians follow their Bibles, the buddhist, the hindus etc.

So let me tell you the WHYS, ISLAM & DOGS ARE NOT THAT HOME FRIENDLY.

(moderated by me; info excerpt from @Izzroy Jojoba)

I want to touch a dog - its a program made by those who are ignorant of the Quran, Hadith and Sunnah Nabi. We call em' the 'JAHILLIANS' means they do right on what is morally wrong, (bodoh sombong) influence others and pretend their faith is strong (when they believe/knowledge is limited to none).

We call em' Jahil ilmu fiqh mazhab Syafie (our mazhab for most Malaysians)
Jahil ilmu 'uruf. Jahil ilmu fitnah khilafatul 'uruf. Jahil ilmu fiqh Aulawiyat. and everything is to do with jahil topic.

This program has succeeded to produce 'fitnah' defamation aka lies to the public, creating more confusion and further disturbance to the muslim public; those with limited knowledge in fiqh education and especially children.

Why did i say this? Cos the defamation existed will create WRONGFUL AWARENESS that they can & want to touch & cuddle dogs or more to have them as pet without reason when is clearly NO GO In Islam.  This will cause to them to think its OK to have dogs as pets at home (as long they samak' / sertu) and cause further defamation.

Perhaps there were other mazhabs indication on the hukum hakam of dog's bowels (najis anjing / air liur) that says the najis were not Najis Mughallazah but our muslim fellows in this country are mostly holding firm to Mazhab Syafie faith that states TOUCHING DOGS IS NO GO. So for those who were in other mazhabs means you are not from here. Wouldnt you have at least a decent of respect on those muslims who actually LIVE here? You cant expect we muslims who follows our mazhab Syafie will agree on your predicament?

Again, I will further elaborate on hukum with DOGS in ISLAM.

The truth about the Program which has crossed the line for 2 MAIN REASONS.

1. HUKUM TO TOUCH DOGS

There is no denying existence of khilaf amongst other mazhabs on the issue a dog's body is najis or not. But in simpler terms; Mazhab Syafie has stated that the entire body of a dog is certainty a najis mughallazah (Imam nawawi, Mughni Al-Muhtaj, Khatib Syarbini), moreover besides mazhab syafie (yakni mazhab hanbali, maliki, hanafi) also stated its saliva only are najis.

Which based on hadith:

translated: For a person to cleanse himself after being licked by dog is by washing himself with water 7times and 1st wash with water mixed with soil. (sertu/ samak)

Means that, the hukum to touch a dog is certainty khilaf. Which surely, HARAM (FORBIDDEN) to touch on  PURPOSE  that caused a transfer of najis to our body. In other words, touching a dog when the animal or ourselves (wet, sweating, hands not dried) means it is forbidden to do so in Mazhab Syafie as the najis can be transferred.

WHY again the entire body is considered heavy accordance to Mazhab Syafie?
Cos most animals clean themselves by licking themselves. Same goes to dogs. And the high probability its saliva will be on its entire body.

The program itself did not give any guarantee that the contestants or trainers won't have their dogs lick themselves by end of the day. So how confident are they that their dogs or their hands will be dry at most times?

Touching a bit and then samak/sertu later is putting yourself in a complicated situation and perhaps disaproval by the religion.

2. Hukum to OWN DOGS AS PETS

To own these dogs, no khilaf or ijmak (agreed/ sepakat) between all the religious authorities para ulama-ulama muktabar muttaqaddimin dan mutaakhirin stating that No muslim fellow is allowed to own a dog as pets as how we care / own cats (cuddle, kiss, sleep with and play with) as house pets. EXCEPT for the allowed reasons to have em as follows:

i) To guard against our belongings
ii) To guard against our crops/fields/land
iii) To guard against our farm animals
iv) As animals for hunting purposes
v) To safeguard for family safety
If none of this made as a reason for a muslim person to own a dog as pet, then you are forbidden in Islam.

And these guard dogs conditions too are not to be placed in the same house we live in and not to be treated like pets in the house.

According to our Sunnah Nabi Muhammad SAW "Nabi SAW bersabda: Barang siapa memelihara anjing bukan untuk menjaga ladang atau ternak, maka setiap hari pahalanya berkurangan satu qirath." [Hadis Muttafaq 'Alaih]
translated that anyone to pursue owning dogs as pets other than reasons above; will cause their pahala (the good records) to be erased as much as 1 qirath (as big as mountain uhud)
Abdullah bin Umar also said he "Once heard Nabi SAW mentioned that anyone have dogs as pets other than reasons above, will have their good deeds erased 2 qirath per day..."
[Riwayat Bukhari no. 5059 dan Muslim, no: 2940]

More from Ibnu Umar "Rasulullah SAW once give orders to kill all dogs except those for hunting or dogs for safeguarding land or farming purposes"
[riwayat Muslim no. 1571]
"Anyone owns dogs for other than the reasons of hunting and safeguarding (belongings, family, land, farming eyc), he will have his pahala (good deeds) erased as much as 1 qirath (as big a mountain) per each day"  [Hadis Muttafaq 'Alaih]

To the fact a tale by Rasulullah's wife Aisyah r.a "At one time angel Jibril has promised to come meet Rasulullah at his house, but when the time comes he failed to show up. With a cane on his hand, he says Allah & him will never break a promise- and when he threw the cane he was surprised to see a puppy sleeping underneath his bed.
He asked Siti Aisyah how did the puppy got there and she had no idea. Quickly they ushered the dog away and once the dog left, angel Jibril appeared.
Rasulullah then asked Jibril " You promised to come to my house but why didnt you show up?"  Jibril answers " The dog was in your home cause we (angels) dont enter homes that has dogs in their homes" [Hadis Riwayat Bukhari dan Muslim]

The conditions given to all muslims:
1) HARAM / FORBIDDEN to have dogs as home pets
2) WAJIB / MUST to give drink/food (if have them as guards)
3) HARAM / FORBIDDEN to hurt them or make them suffer
4) ONLY to have them around for the 5 stated reasons only.

So back to the Program.. the contestants and people there allowed themselves to hug, cuddle dogs on purpose.. isnt this HARAM?

Pls note that dogs are just like any other beings and no animals are allowed to disrespected, hurt or abused or perhaps killed for no reason. Just because we stand against having dogs as pets, doesn't mean we can have inhuman behavior on these lil beings. They too are Allah's beings, should be loved, given compassion and treated well. No hadith mentions on abusing or killing dogs without reason are acceptable. therefore hurting animals are FORBIDDEN in islam!

Even there was a story a prostitute came home to find a weak dog thirst of water. She gave the dog water (no saying she cuddle or kiss the dog) because she felt he was just an animal which needs help. Later she was given a place in heavens for her compassion.
So doesnt mean being compassion we have to do against our religion...
We can care for dogs.. as long we adhere to rules as lined on the Quran & hadiths..

So my friends, hope this clears up why its NO GO for us muslims to have dogs as pets in our lives. As a muslim, everything we do & we say in life should be based on guidance of Quran and there is always a reason for it.

Always remember Allah is our creator and Quran is our manual.
The creator always have reasons to justify why something is not good for us.
Just like the analogy if we are car manufacturers. We always know whats best for the car, whats not safe for the car. Follow the manual and you wont have a defect car.
its plain simple actually.

The Malay version from Izzroy:
want to touch a dog.
Kenapa seluruh tubuhnya dianggap najis berat menurut mazhab syafie?
i. Untuk menjaga harta
ii. untuk menjaga tanaman
iii. untuk menjaga ternakan
iv. sebagai anjing untuk memburu
v. menjaga keselamatan keluarga
"Nabi SAW bersabda: Barang siapa memelihara anjing bukan untuk menjaga ladang atau ternak, maka setiap hari pahalanya berkurangan satu qirath."
[Hadis Muttafaq 'Alaih]
Daripada Abdullah bin Umar dia berkata: "Aku mendengar Nabi SAW bersabda: Sesiapa memelihara anjing selain anjing untuk berburu atau anjing menjaga binatang ternak, maka pahalanya akan berkurang dua qirath setiap harinya."
[Riwayat Bukhari no. 5059 dan Muslim, no: 2940]
[riwayat Muslim no. 1571]
Syaratnya:
1) HARAM bela anjing di dalam rumah
2) WAJIB beri makan minumnya
3) HARAM mendera atau mencederakannya
4) HANYA atas 5 sebab di atas sahaja
**Peserta-peserta program tu dah peluk, sentuh, belai anjing. Adakah ia dibenarkan? Tidak sama sekali.
